Studio Policies

Studio Policy:

• A deposit of $50 will reserve a class space or Parttery. It is NOT refundable but can be used in the studio for 30 days past the date of deposit for any retail item or service.
• Any missed classes (adults and children) may be made up by attending another class that week or at the end of the 4- or 8-week session. Students who sign up for the 4-week session can make up one missed class only. Students who sign up for the 8-week session can make up two missed classes only. 
• There will be no refunds or class credits.
• Tuition will not be prorated. Only children may take a single class to gauge their interest in working with clay. 
• Firing fees are paid prior to firing.
• If an individual has not been in the studio for any 4 weeks, his/her missed classes will be forfeited, and the class space will no longer be reserved. The studio may or may not provide a reminder.
• Any work left in the studio for 30 days may be disposed of or recycled. 
• Gift certificates are valid for 6 months from date of issue. Sorry, no extensions.
• No credit or debit charges will be accepted for invoices under $10.
• Work made at Island Pottery Studio must be fired at Island Pottery Studio.

Workspace Potter Policy

Workspace Potters are experienced potters who need a place to work during our Open Studio times and with space availability, during other class times. Proof of proficiency in clay is required as there is no instruction provided. Below are guidelines for your time with us:

• Workspace Potters pay a monthly fee to the studio from the first day of the month to the last day of the month. Partial payments are not accepted.
• Workspace Potters will be assigned a storage shelf. If a Workspace Potter does not come in for any reason, but continues to use the shelf, a fee of $25/month will be charged for up to two months.
• Workspace Potters may keep any pottery related objects on the shelf as long as their composition and placement does not pose a hazard to other potters or surrounding shelves.
• Workspace Potters can use up to 35lbs of clay per month. The studio cannot support any type of production pottery.
• Firing fees are paid prior to firing and for each firing.
• Fees will not be prorated. There are no refunds for Workspace Potter fees. 
• Work made at Island Pottery Studio must be fired at Island Pottery Studio.
• After two months of using a shelf without working in the studio, we reserve the right to empty the shelf. Items will be boxed for one additional month, then will be disposed of. The studio may or may not provide a reminder.
• This will supersede all previous agreements.
